Hannah Sanders

Biography

Hannah March Sanders is a mixed-media artist exploring the expanded fields of printmaking, fiber arts, book arts, and comics. They received their BFA at Tulane University and an MFA from LSU. Hannah worked as a Professor, BA in Art Coordinator, and Area Head of Printmaking & Fibers at Southeast Missouri State University for the past 12 years. They currently present workshops and lectures around the country, including as an Instructor at the Sequential Artists Workshop, who presented Hannah the Innovator Award in 2025. 

Along with their collaborator Blake Sanders, Hannah was awarded the Windgate Distinguished Fellowship for Innovation in Craft in 2022 to attend the Hambidge Center Residency. They were featured in the International Academic Printmaking Alliance’s 3rd Printmaking Biennale in Beijing, China and co-facilitated Burden of Proof: Reproduction in the Institution at the Southern Graphics Council International Conference in RI. Hannah was a Panelist on Altered Books to Zines: Making Worlds, at the 2023 American Printing History Association conference at UT Austin. Fall 2025, they participated on a panel at SECAC about queer and trans erasure in red states. October 2026, their work will be featured in the LSU alumni exhibition at the Mid America Print Council Conference.
