Jackie Banigan

Biography

Jackie is a PhD candidate in Art History specializing in nineteenth-century French art. She received her MA and BA degrees in Art History and her certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Iowa. While at the university, she has taught classes in Art History and Rhetoric. Jackie successfully completed the Museum Seminar Internship program at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she catalogued works in the department of Drawings and Prints. She has also worked with the Stanley Museum of Art, Figge Art Museum, Dubuque Museum of Art, and Old Capitol Museum in Iowa City. Additionally, Jackie has long been involved in arts outreach through the University of Iowa's Office of Community Engagement, Graduate Engagement Corps, Dubuque Area Arts Collective, and Studio Works. She helped organize the eighth Biennial Grant Wood Symposium and has presented her dissertation research at national conferences.
