Odette Stout is an artist and drag performer whose multimedia performances and costumes emerge from Chicago underground nightlife. In presentations that fuse fashion, movement, poetry and augmented reality, Stout transforms themself and collaborating performers into otherworldly living artworks, called on to tell stories from spaces where self-creation is a survival art practice. 

Stout’s projects have been supported by 3Arts, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and Chicago Artists Coalition, among others. They are the recipient of a 2026 MacDowell Fellowship and 2026-27 Grant Wood Fellowship at the University of Iowa. Exhibitions include The Sculpture Center, Poetry Foundation, Vox Populi, CURRENTS, Roots & Culture, Co-Prosperity, and Ars Electronica.
