The Grant Wood Art Colony at the University of Iowa is proud to announce the recipients of the 2023–24 Grant Wood Fellowship. Each year, three artists are selected through an international search to join the university as artists-in-residence and visiting assistant professors.
This year’s fellows are:
- Ada Friedman – Painting & Drawing
- Elizabeth Claire Rose – Printmaking
- Kyle Marshall – Interdisciplinary Performance (Dance)
Chosen through a highly competitive peer review process, the fellows bring not only exceptional portfolios, exhibitions, and academic achievements, but also expertise that supports the growth of current graduate students.
During their residency, fellows will:
- Live and create at the historic Grant Wood Art Colony
- Teach one course per semester at the University of Iowa
- Share their work and insights through public lectures
- Engage with communities across Iowa
- Present an end-of-year exhibition showcasing new work
The Grant Wood Fellowship continues the legacy of Iowa’s most celebrated artist by fostering creativity, teaching, and community connection.
