Take part in a community-created work of art, The Bee Project.

Grant Wood Printmaking Fellow Elena V. Smyrniotis offers an exciting art project that you can do independently in your community.  In April and May of 2022, participants can connect their bees with the swarm to become part of a large community installation celebrating the importance of bees in Gibson Square Park, near the new University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art.

The video linked above includes information about the importance of bees and ideas and instructions on how to make your own bee. This project is intended for use in the classroom or at home, by people of all ages.

Visit www.elenasmyrniotis.com to learn more about the project and to learn how you can bring The Bee Project to your community.
