Grant Wood Art Colony National Advisory Board announces the new date for the 7th Biennial Grant Wood Symposium: April 8-10, 2022.

The National Advisory Board of the Grant Wood Art Colony decided to postpone the 7th Biennial Grant Wood Symposium: A Home and Studio of One’s Own originally scheduled for October 16-18, 2020. The first priority of the University of Iowa and the Grant Wood Art Colony remains protecting the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Advancing the scholarship around 20th-21st-century artists who, like Grant Wood, extended their practice to creating distinctive homes and studios is the primary objective of the Symposium. The National Advisory Board feels confident that by spring 2022, the University of Iowa will be able to support the comradery and collaboration that comes from in-person discussions and interactions. Organizers will also take advantage of the myriad online formats that have become popular over the past two years to enable participation from around the globe.
