Please join us for a moderated conversation with visiting Hip Hop residency artist Toni Blackman and UI 2019 Grant Wood Music Fellow in Hip Hop Studies and Culture Brandon Alexander Williams. The discussion will provide a candid and informed glimpse inside the creative minds of two nationally-recognized hip hop artists who have carved a path to artistic success in the music genre. Discussion of creative process, philosophical approach to music making, the music business world, Hip Hop’s role in influencing world cultures/societies and the future of hip hop will be openly explored. The session will conclude with an audience Q and A session.  Toni Blackman's residency is sponsored by the UI Division of Performing Arts, UI Office of Outreach and Engagement, Grant Wood Colony and Any Given Child. Free and open to the public.
